Updating after a long while

This is going to be me playing catch up for a little while and sharing things that have happened since my last post -- which was Chloe's 1st Birthday.

Here are some random notes that I found recently in my phone, that I don't want to forget.  These are short memories, or just things that I want to remember.

April 21, 2016 at 2:51AM (chloe 1 month old)
This last month as a mom has been so life changing and so wonderful.  I get to wake up at all hours of the night and take care of someone who is 100% dependent on me.  I also get to stare into those same someone's eyes and see a genuine smile.  This change in routine has really been full of true joy.  Now don't get me wrong, it has been extremely challenging at times, however, it has always been rewarding to know that this human that my body created in 9 months is my responsibility and I couldn't be happier to call her mine.  Chloe's sweet, adorable spirit has been one of the biggest blessings in our lives.  I am in love with her infectious smile and personality and I can't wait to learn more about this tiny little being.

January 20, 2017 -- Chloe has eaten list:
In order of first to when we stopped keeping track (*loves these):
Rice Cereal, Sweet Peas, Sweet Carrots, Squash, Bananas*, Prunes*, Sweet Potatoes*, Apples*, Green Beans, Oat Cereal*, Mango*, Peaches, Pear, Pineapple, Spinach, Butternut Squash, Corn, Strawberry

Chloe has never liked to eat; too busy to sit still and she had a dislike for most textures we gave her.. We used to have to put her in a bouncer and while one of us would distract her with whatever we could bang together to make noise, the other would shovel the spoon into her mouth (past her tightly closed lips, gums and tongue for extra guard).

June 10, 2018 -- Things Chloe does (age 2)
  • says hi and bye really loudly when entering or leaving a room
  • says love you (sounds like eleven)
  • says “soon” for see you soon
  • repeats a TON of words
  • counts one, two, free, four, eight, nine, ten (unless prompted to say five, six, seven
  • says things A MILLION times so we definitely hear her “a water.....” pause “a water....”
  • when asked a question, she says “uhhh...” and then answers the question (needs thinking time)
  • wakes up from bedtime and nap time saying “a sad” (not sure why she’s sad all the time)
  • hates bath time lately
  • loves to dance to music
  • points out all airplanes
  • we went to friend’s house for a bbq in the Ward. Chloe made an instant friend, Pam Price. Chloe followed her around, saying “Tam, Tam!” — we then got home and went to bed, the next few days, all she said was Tam! — evening prayer I helped Chloe thank Heavenly Father for family and friends, to which Chloe exclaimed, “TAM!”
  • singing ABC’s when she gets to T she says TV and when she gets to Z she says Zebra
  • Says “I wuv you”
July 20, 2019 -- Things Chloe does (age 3)
  • Pointing to dads chest hairs saying they need to be on his head
  • Calling Beavers, Beibers
  • I DO have to go potty, “that’s why I don’t have to FUSS about it” - repeating what dad would say
  • I can do it, I can do it all myself........(very insisting) I need help
  • During doctor checkups. Chloe would ask dad to open his mouth and say awwwwww ...... and dad would say awwwwwABBBBYYYYY - then when dad did the same thing to Chloe she would (without prompting) say awwwwwABBBBBYYYYYY
  • Cash in the bank
  • Look for pennies
  • Junk mail “goes in the garbage”
July 30, 2019 -- Tucker's Birth -- things we wanted to remember

  • Figuring out how he liked to sleep -- he was a pretty fussy baby at first, struggled to sleep
  • Our nurse Kristi -- the one who also was my nurse during my version to flip Tucker when he was breech, was there when I delivered.
  • I pushed for 9 minutes
  • Tucker hated diaper changes, hated
  • He did not like the swaddle/hospital receiving blanket, as soon as we ditched that, he slept much better
  • I had plenty of milk this time for nursing him.. almost too much
  • He ate like a boss.  He loved his milk and it showed ;)
  • We had a list of names, and our top two were Flynn and Tucker... the more and more we stirred about both names, Flynn just didn't feel like it fit -- we took the whole time that we were in the hospital to decide on Tucker though -- we didn't sign his name papers until we were about to check out of the hospital
  • Tucker's "poots" were SUPER loud, he was extremely gassy and we think it might have been why he was fussy in the beginning.
  • He looks just like Chloe, a little more round of a face, but they look very similar

September 20, 2019 -- Tucker 2 months
"Today I caught Chloe trying to soothe Tucker from crying and saying, "Tucker, you need to calm down, because I can't hear the sound of my coloring" so sweet and so hilarious -- love moments like these after one crazy week."
